Project 1 Academy Education Consultant/School Improvement Adviser
Consultancy support includes:
- Delivery of change management
- Leading the Academy in SIMS Assessment and Data
- Leading the Academy in reviewing and planning a new curriculum and writing a 'one' week timetable for September 2011
- Supporting the Principal in all aspects of Academy Leadership
- Supporting the development of a Framework for Learning, a Monitoring Self Evaluation and Review Policy and a Key Stage 4 Intervention Plan
- Leading a review of Teaching and Learning and working with the Advanced Skills Teachers to plan a high impact CPD programme to improve the quality of Teaching and Learning
- Delivering a successful recruitment strategy to ensure the Academy is fully staffed for September 2011
Project 2 Associate Leader on behalf of a Local Authority to support an underperforming school
Consultancy support includes:
- working in conjunction with the Local Authority to review school leadership and provision
- delivery of change management
- supporting preparation of high quality Self Evaluation Form and School Development Plan;
- leading a review of the school's target setting and data systems
- coaching Middle Leaders in the use of data and self evaluation and implementing a whole school monitoring, self evaluation and review framework.
Project 3 Lead Education Advisor to open (September 2010) a new Academy and then provide further Leadership and Management development.
Consultancy support includes:
- delivery of change management
- writing the Education Brief for the Academy (vision & ethos, curriculum delivery, Leadership & Management, role of the specialism's & academy organisation)
- providing effective transition planning and leadership development
- supporting multiple educationally expert sponsors
- developing teaching and non-teaching staffing structures,
- supporting the implementation of staff and student policies and procedures
- support the Principal in all aspects of Academy Leadership
- support the development of a Framework for Learning and a Monitoring Policy

Project 4 Supporting a Local Authority in reviewing school provision.
- To review the quality of Leadership & Management and the progress of succession planning for transformation into a Pathfinder Trust School in September 2011
- To review progress towards the four agreed objectives in the Acting Headteachers Performance Management
- To work with the Local Authority to complete a review of all subject areas
- To support the new Principal Designate as appropriate
Other Relevant Experience
Interim Associate Leader to a school in an Ofsted category in London. Consultancy support included:
- leading the school as Acting Headteacher for ten weeks - March to June 2009.
- leading consultation with all stakeholders to develop and implement the schools Post Ofsted Action Plan
- using the Ofsted report and school based self evaluation information identify where additional support is required. In conjunction with the Local Authority and partner schools plan appropriate support packages.
- working with the Local Authority and supporting the Head teacher to develop and implement a new staffing structure to deliver the school's BSF Strategy for Change
- supporting whole school improvement by individually coaching members of the Senior Leadership Team
- establishing and implementing a whole school Quality Assurance process to improve the quality of Learning and Teaching, raise Standards and reduce underachievement
- in conjunction with Quality Assurance develop Middle Leaders' role in department and year group self evaluation to further their understanding and role in accountability.
Curriculum consultant in Newcastle. Support included:
Leading the school in developing its curriculum provision in all Key Stages and specifically to:
- create greater opportunities for personalised learning
- improve curricular links with other local providers
- review existing provision at Key Stage 3 in light of national developments and in particular develop a 'pathways' model to provide an appropriate curriculum for all
- plan a learning to learn programme for all students in year 7
- review courses and qualifications offered in KS4 & 5
Headteacher London
The School's 1150 students faced a range of challenging circumstances, including a deprivation indicator twice the national average, with 70% students failing to reach key stage 4 in English and Maths on entry, 25% of students had SEN, 50% of the school originated from an ethic minority background and 37% were entitled to Free School Meals. The focus was on raising standards and through strategies and policies put in place the school achieved the following:
- Best ever 5+A*-C results in 2005 (top 30% of schools nationally based on prior attainment) and again in 2007 46%;
- Best ever 5+A*-C including English and Maths in 2007;
- 5+A*-G rose from 80% to 90% (top 20% of schools nationally over 3 years based on prior attainment)
- Top 5% of schools nationally for English at KS3
